Reflex, the Antidepressant That Worked After Trying Many, Still Used After Six Years

I developed depression in my second year as a working adult. That’s when it was noticed, but it might’ve started earlier.

After trying various antidepressants, the one that worked best—and I’m still using six years later—is Reflex. At first, side effects made it hard to get up, but now my body’s adjusted, and I get comfortable sleep. I also take a few different anti-anxiety meds alongside it.

For me, living with my mom was bad for my mental health. Six months after my diagnosis, I moved out on my own—I never really liked her.

That freedom lifted my depression. Sure, there were times I felt overwhelmed, but the relief outweighed it. I think I managed because I had a friend who listened to my struggles and cried with me.

Now, with money tight, I’ve moved from Kanto to Kansai to live with my dad, who’s on a solo assignment. We don’t interfere much, which feels good. When things get tough, I call my friend.

What I want to say is, being with family isn’t always best. Some need family help, others don’t want to live with them. Figuring that out is key.
