Finding the Right Doctor and Meds Can Lead to Improvement

I’m a high school student living with my mom, dad, and younger sister. I’ve had depression since my first year of high school. The doctor said it was severe. I switched to a correspondence school. Recently, I’ve been feeling a bit better.

At first, going to the hospital didn’t help at all, and I thought it was pointless. It felt like a waste of money, and the long wait times were annoying.

But after finding a good hospital, changing doctors, and going regularly while trying different meds, I started to improve. The doctor said it’s hard to find the right meds for young people. It took time, but I’m doing better now.

In the beginning, I only complained to the doctor. But when I opened up about wanting to sleep more, hating how long I’d dwell on things, or suddenly feeling like everything was awful and getting overwhelmed, they adjusted my meds, and things started to click.

I believe if you find a good doctor and the right meds, you can get better.
